Douglas

In July 1921 Donald Wills Douglas founded the Douglas aircraft company in California "Monica" dissolution followed by Davis Douglas Company. Douglas planes in the year 1924 were the first circumnavigation of world and had early clamed to the fame. Douglas Company was American manufacturer by him aerospace of America based at long Beach in California that was founded in 1921 by Donald W Douglas, later then merged with the McDonnell Aircraft Company in 1967 to form the McDonnell Douglas,

 

now it is currently a part also with Boeing Airplanes division.

The production of joint companies that founded by the James S, then Donald Douglas and McDonnell was leading manufacturer in military as well as commercials, helicopters and space air-crafts. WWII C-47 the military jest phantom F-4, Eagle F-15 and F18 Hornet, Dc family of the civilian jets, those are examples of success of the corporation. The history of the helicopters McDonnell Douglas was considered by the early firms of Mc Donnell and Hughes.

 

US Navy was designed the very first helo and its engine were only 2 Pratt and Whitney R985 of hp 450 each of unit built. World's first Ram-jet helicopter was especially powered with the Ram-jets and mounted at tips of rotor blade. Though it had no rotor tail and only weighed in 280 pounds. It was unfortunately cancelled due to heavy consumption and suspension the fuel, one of its proposed versions H29 was cancelled also due to same reason.

 

In 1958 it has commissioned with US navy, Mc Donnell Douglas A 4 Skyhawk and a small single-winged carrier aircraft that had made its first flight on 24th of June in 1954. With success that plane took part in many conflicts, with US navy in Vietnam U S M C, and with Israel in Middle East . A version of SkyhawkII is equipped with ASB 39; nowadays it is no longer in using of US but many other countries still use it.
